Bishop Charles L. Wright was born again December 31, 1973, under the pastoral leadership of Bishop Dr. Marshall Carter, pastor of the Lynwood Park United Church of God in Christ (UCOGIC) in Atlanta, GA. Bishop Wright worked faithfully in the church and was ordained deacon, elder and held many other positions within the local church and many on the national level. After the transition of Bishop Dr. Marshall Carter on June 22, 2003, Bishop Wright was called to pastor, Faith Covenant UCOGIC in Tucker, GA. Bishop Wright was led to fellowship under the leadership Bishop Dewey F. Long was the 2nd Assistant Presiding Bishop of the United Churches of God in Christ. Bishop Long appointed Pastor Wright as his 1st Assistant in the Byfaith Jurisdictional of UCOGIC. Dr. Long after prayerful consideration and collaboration with Pastor Wright renamed his local church as Covenant Fellowship Church International. In 2011, Bishop Dr. Dewey F. Long was called home to be with the Lord but before he transitioned he ask Bishop Wright to carry on the work directing him to "Keep Walking!"
Bishop Wright began his education in the DeKalb County School System and later graduated from Decatur High School. Bishop Wright was accepted into the DeKalb Community College where he studied Accounting Principles and Business Administration, Bishop Wright later transferred his credits to Georgia State University and continued his education. Bishop Wright enrolled in Faith Bible Institute of Monroe, Louisiana where he received his Bible College Diploma, Bishop Wright also graduated with honors from Covenant Fellowship Church International Bible Institute where he earned his Master's in Theology under the tutelage of Bishop Dr. Dewey F. Long.
Bishop Wright's early employment began with the Internal Revenue Service at the Southeast Regional Office in Doraville, GA, where he worked as a Tax Examiner in both the Individual Master File (IMF) and the Business Master File (BMF). Bishop Wright later was employed as a manager of Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers and later manager of Burger King restaurants. Bishop Wright was later employed with Melvin S. Roos & Co., Inc. where he worked as a Logistics Specialist and while working for Melvin Roos he began to work part-time as a professional chauffeur at Executive Town & Country Limousine Service and then later full-time at Carey Interantional Limousine Service. Bishop Wright has held positions as an Account Manager for Auto Pilot Real Estate and has worked as vice president of Pheonix Property Solutions and many other businesses.
Bishop Wright has held many occupations but his profession is his Faith and he is presently working for the Lord who said, "Go into the vineyard and work and whatever is right, I will pay you," and his focus is on "Embracing the Promises of God" and becoming an obedient servant of the Lord.
